Seriously? How can 1 people in an entire country read "no yoruba" and why then totally ignore it and blame a man because your people killed his wife? And yet you all scream "we are humble and respectful people"

This is not out of hate or discrimination, but due to a grave personal history. 8 years ago, my late wife’s family waited until I left Nigeria to retire from the military, then tricked her into going to Ekiti where they killed her, labeling it "jungle justice" and an "honour killing." That family is now serving life in prison. Federal law is clear, every individual in Nigeria has the legal and human right to reject traditions and marry as they choose. It is a criminal offense for a community to demand traditions or imply they are legally binding when they are not. I will not date or marry into this culture again because I cannot reconcile with a tradition that believes it has the right to force human beings to beg on the floor or mocks a man on the most important day of his life. I find such expectations to be fundamentally cruel.
